The choice is yours..... That's bizarre. I was going to raise the seat for Linda also but she said no as well. That's cuz Sandy makes a really cool lookin' Kilroy Our midget and dwarf readers don't find this post to be in good taste,,,and feel it should be edited or deleted This message has been edited by ALLEY CAT on 12-15-2007 at 11:50 AM This message has been edited by Richard Jackson on 12-16-2007 at 06:13 AM This message has been edited by hotroddaddy on 12-15-2007 at 11:39 PM I was actually up all night. I went to bed about 7:15 and the guy up the street fired up his leaf blower at 8 AM local time, 7 AM POA time. It started snowing about 20 minutes later so he had to quit. I had to go to the funeral anyway. Your method raised the rear of the seat only, and doesn't work on the front of the seat because the front floor bolts are not vertical. This changes the angle of the seat bottom & affects the comfort of the seat. ------------------ Or get a taller wife? This message has been edited by Richard Jackson on 12-17-2007 at 09:50 AM carguybill My wife doesn't like to ride in our Prowler because she can't see out due to the high doors. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem and will appreciate any "fixes". Getting a taller wife is notan option. Bill thedqman Hi Bill,
A few people have raised the seat height.
Im sure someone who has done it will chime in.
If I remember, it involves raising the 4 mounting points with spacers or threaded Rod.
Cant be that difficult.
Mikeed monahan You need metric threaded rod and 4 turnbuckles. I don't remember the size, but Richard Jackson did it. I was going to do it but Sandy nixed it. bjprowler I say, go to the hardware store and check out the price of turnbuckles and threaded rods....Then go find a tall blonde who likes Prowlers.... My wife has a pillow that works just fine, besides what are you going to do when one of the guys who is 6 foot tall wants to ride and you have put in taller mounts under the seat.. ALLEY CAT quote:

I have them in stock ready to ship. They are 150.oo inc. shipping. They have complete instructions as well. These are 2" high and are a true bolt in. All hardware is included. No mods. to your car to install them of course. You will only need metric sockets and a #47 Torx male driver(1/2" drive and its rachet). You can call me with any questions at 650-967-3609(leave a message). I take personal checks, send your order to:
Scott Curtis(make ck. to me)

Los Altos, Ca. 94024Richard Jackson It has been a while, but I think the parts cost about $5 and I just used a threaded rod from Home Depot, Monahan gave me the rod. I cut about a one inch piece of the treaded rod and connected that to a coupling nut (hard to find, had to order on line) to the rear threaded seat bolt in the floor. I had to bend the floor bolt forward about 10 degrees so that the seat holes would align to my newly added threaded rod/nut combo. Monahan of course did the work. I just like to watch. hotroddaddy this topic has me wondering if there is a power seat mechanism available (from a salvage yard) that could be adapted to accommodate the stock Prowler seat and floorboard(s) without modifying the Prowler. Such a power seat mechanism that could be bolted in between the floor and the seat with a (hidden but easily accessible) control switch like maybe in the console?? Maybe there's a generic power seat mechanism available through street rod parts vendors...?? A power seat usually has far more adjustment possibilites than a manually adjusted seat, and power seats is one of those things I always thought was "missing" in my Prowler.... especially since it had all the other power goodies. ed monahan quote:

Mounting the seat up on "stilts" is not the proper way to do this. JMO I used obi-wan's kit, & very happy with the results. Riser fits between the floor mounting brackets and the entire length of the seat slide rails. Very cleverly engineered & super strong. Installs in about an hour. Works for me! catfish nobody has mentioned this yet,are you sure the drivers seat is already adjusted up as high as it will go.fyi.if you decide to alter the seat mounts and were in a serious accident and injured or killed, because seat came loose or moved, you would not ,so to speak have a leg to stand on,because you altered the seat.you would have to do it yourself, because i dont think you will find a shop to do it just for the above reason,liability/lawsuit.i get asked 4 to 5 times year, they have a 6 pass.tahoe and want to add another seat ih the rr.no way i would do it. ed monahan You have two or three solutions or leaving it alone and everyone seems to be happy with their own solution to the problem(?). You can use a pillow, spend just a couple of bucks or spend a lot, the end result is what matters to you. Richard Jackson quote:

I'm only 5' but since the driver's seat is adjustable I don't have the problem of not being at the right height! I do know there are a number of women passengers that just use a cushion. BeWare An adjust mechanism could probably be built for the passenger seat but you would have to relocate the amp which is currently mounted under the seat.
